Owned and managed by Chris Dickerson and Brian Moakes, themselves keen railway enthusiasts and collectors of tickets and
railwayana for
many years, the auctions started in 1991. This developed into
the leading auction house for the sale
of railway, bus and tram tickets also railway luggage labels and stamps.
The name Paddington Ticket Auctions was chosen because the auctions originally
took place in the Great Western Royal
Hotel at Paddington. Refurbishment of the hotel in the mid-1990s caused a move to Holborn and later to the present
location at the Royal National Hotel,
Russell Square, London. In December 2018, ownership of Paddington Ticket Auctions was transfered to
Great Central Railwayana Limited. Great Central Railwayana will continue to run the Paddington Ticket Auctions at the
same venue and dates as advertised previously.
